Mapping Africa’s natural resources

Experimenting with some design concepts in wood, I came up with mapping Africa’s natural resources.
TEA, TIMBER, TITANIUM, TOBACCO, URANIUM, WATER, GRAPHITE, IORN ORE, NATURAL GAS, NICKEL, PETROLEUM, PHOSPHATES, PLATINUM, POZZOLANA, ALUMINUM, COAL, COCOA BEANS, COFFEE, COPPER, COTTON, DIAMONDS, FISH, GOLD

Natural resources are being pulled out of Africa at an alarming rate each year:

$192 billion out of Africa each year
$46.3 billion in profits by multinational companies
$17 billion in illegal logging
$36.6 billion as a result to climate change
$35.3 billion in tax evasion and other illicit financial flows facilitated through tax havens
$30 billion in overseas aid…the list goes on

A better job is needed to manage these resources before it gets too late.
